PMKVY. Free IT skills training under Skill India.
Rooman's PMKVY programme is free, government-funded IT skills training under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship's Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana. Rooman is an NSDC-authorised training partner and runs Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendras, teaching networking, digital literacy, cloud fundamentals and cybersecurity basics.

PMKVY is the Government of India's flagship skilling scheme, run by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship with NSDC. Rooman delivers its IT job roles at Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendras in several states.

Who it's for
Built for your first job in IT.
PMKVY short-term training is for Indian nationals aged 15 to 45, including people who are out of education, school or college dropouts, and unemployed youth. Each job role also sets its own education requirement.

01Digital literacy40 hrs

03Cloud and cybersecurity basics100 hrs

Capstone
Set up an office. Then support it.
In your final practical you set up computers and a small network, secure them, and fix the faults your instructor introduces, as you would in a first IT support job.
Every module includes hands-on practice at the centre.

Your credential
A Skill India certificate for your job role.
A Skill India certificate for your job role. You are assessed by an NCVET-approved awarding body, and when you pass you receive a QR-coded digital certificate through Skill India Digital.
Certified candidates are linked to Rozgar Melas and Apprenticeship Melas under the scheme.

Who can join?
Indian nationals aged 15 to 45 with a valid Aadhaar who meet the job role's eligibility, including people out of education, dropouts and unemployed youth.
Do I pay anything?
No. PMKVY training is government-funded, so it is free for eligible candidates.
Which ministry runs PMKVY?
The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, with NSDC supporting implementation.
What will I learn at Rooman?
IT job roles covering digital literacy, networking, cloud fundamentals and cybersecurity basics, with employability skills.
How long is the training?
PMKVY 4.0 short-term courses run between 300 and 600 hours, depending on the job role. A counsellor will tell you the length of your course.
How do I apply through Rooman?
Talk to a Rooman counsellor or visit a Rooman centre. They check your eligibility and help you register on Skill India Digital.
Which certificate will I receive?
A QR-coded digital certificate through Skill India Digital, after you pass the assessment by an NCVET-approved awarding body.
Will I get placement help?
Rooman offers placement support, and certified candidates are linked to Rozgar Melas and Apprenticeship Melas under the scheme.
