DDU-GKY. Free IT skills training for rural youth.
Rooman's DDU-GKY programme is free IT skills training for rural youth under the Ministry of Rural Development's Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana. Rooman runs DDU-GKY centres in semi-urban and rural locations, with 576-hour courses covering domain IT skills, English and soft skills, and placement support.

Who it's for
Built for rural youth starting a career.
DDU-GKY is for rural youth aged 15 to 35 from poor households. The upper age limit is 45 for women, Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups, persons with disabilities, transgender persons and other special groups.

A curriculum built on the DDU-GKY norm.
A three-month course of 576 hours, the scheme's shortest standard length, combining domain IT skills with computer skills, English and soft skills.
01Domain IT skills300 hrs
The technical skills of your IT job role, taught hands-on.

Capstone
Set up an office. Then keep it running.
In your final practical you set up computers and a small network and fix the faults your instructor introduces, then explain your work in English.
Every module includes hands-on practice at the centre.

Your credential
A government-recognised skills certificate.
A government-recognised skills certificate. You are assessed by an independent, accredited assessor, and receive a government-recognised certificate when you pass.
Training under DDU-GKY is fully funded by the government, and placed candidates receive post-placement support under the scheme.

Who can join?
Rural youth aged 15 to 35 from poor households. The upper age is 45 for women, PVTGs, persons with disabilities, transgender persons and other special groups.
Do I pay anything?
No. The full cost of training is paid under the scheme, so it is free for eligible candidates.
Which ministry runs DDU-GKY?
The Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India.
How long is the course?
576 hours over three months. DDU-GKY courses can also run six, nine or twelve months.
Where is the training?
At Rooman DDU-GKY centres in semi-urban and rural locations.
How do I apply through Rooman?
Talk to a Rooman counsellor or visit a Rooman DDU-GKY centre, and they will check your eligibility and help you enrol.
Which certificate will I receive?
A government-recognised certificate after you pass an independent assessment.
Will I get placement help?
Yes. DDU-GKY is a placement-linked scheme, and Rooman provides placement support. Under the scheme's guidelines, at least 75% of successfully trained candidates are to be placed.
