The Right time to be trained as Business Correspondent from Rooman!
Welcome to this tour of Rooman’s fast paced certification training course to become a Business Correspondent.
This course encompasses 4 out of 4 National Occupational Standards (NOS) of “Business Correspondent” Qualification Pack issued by “The BFSI Sector Skill Council of India”.
About the Business Correspondent role
In 2006, RBI initiated some steps to promote financial inclusion in all geographic locations within the country. It proposed the Business Correspondent (BC) Model wherein banks are permitted to use the services of third party agents as “Business Correspondents” to provide banking and financial services, such as credit and savings, to customers. This has opened up opportunities for candidates in any stream of education, to enrol and qualify as a Business Correspondent.
There is a nation-wide opportunity, especially in semi urban and rural areas to promote ‘financial inclusion’ of patrons. This means that the role of a business correspondent widens into convincing customers to use banking services and avail the products and solutions. Banks thus gain a foothold in regions that were otherwise difficult to enter into because of the sheer marketing and sales efforts involved. Business Correspondents help bridge this last mile crunch that banks face.
Over the years, the scope for a business correspondents has increased and they have helped banks reach out to many households, women, small home based industries and so on to avail the benefits provided by the banking sector.
